Child Education Scheme

19 out of 100 children in India are not attending school. This number increases significantly in coastal villages, which are highly vulnerable to cyclones and floods every year. As coastal families lose their homes and land, their children are forced to work and forget about getting an education.

53% of children in India under the age of 10 do not receive any formal education. In the majority of cases this is because families simply cannot afford to send their children to school. Children who do manage to receive non-formal education are treated unequally and fall behind when it comes to job opportunities compared with students who attend formal school.

We are actively working with the NGO’s involved in teaching parents of child laborers the importance of education and their duty towards their children. To date, they have enrolled 312 children into non-formal schools and mainstreamed 231 children into regular schools. One educated child is capable of changing their family’s history by pulling them out of poverty. A sum of Rs. 5500 (US $75), can support one child’s educational expenses for an entire year. The donations are used to fund the student for their school fees and provide them with school bags, uniforms, notebooks, and stationery so they are encouraged to attend school regularly. We request you to join hands with us to donate a child a secured future.
